Path to Success Analysis Paper Rubric Due date: 12/23/18 All students have challenges and barriers that they must overcome to succeed in college. Some have more than others. It is very important to recognize and identify these barriers early in your college career and start planning the path that you will take to ensure your success! This assignment is the first step in formulating a plan to address the barrier(s) before it affects your coursework, your grade point average, and your persistence in college. Instructions Your paper must be typed, 12 font, and double spaced. Address each question with at least 3 comments or sentences. This should be typed in essay form, using paragraphs. Typically this is a two page paper. 1. Identify 1-2 barriers or obstacle to your success‐ Using your College Readiness Assessment report (called Smarter Measure), describe at least one barrier to your college success that you are currently facing or that you may face in the future. Please describe the barrier and specifically, explore in three to five sentences each, how this barrier will interfere with your coursework and ability to reach your goals. 2. Write about strategies to overcome the barrier or obstacle‐ next, think about some possible strategies that you could employ to eliminate or reduce the effect that this barrier will have on your education. Barriers to my Success

Beginning life in college usually generates both anxiety and excitement this is due to
factors such as moving into new locations, responsibilities associated with academic work and also
meeting new people. There are many barriers that prevent students from achieving their college
success such as engaging with misleading friends, anxiety, and low motivation and also, increased
use of drugs or alcohol. The main barriers that am facing that are interfering with my coursework
and my ability to achieve my goals is a lack of motivation which has made me not to be assertive
enough in both my class work...
