There are several ways of dealing with prejudice and discrimination. Two of these ways
include education and media campaigns. Through education, it is possible to teach on conflict
resolution strategies (McBride, 2015). Through conflict resolution it possible to teach individuals
in different areas methods of resolving ethnic or other group conflicts. This teaches the
individuals on ways of diffusing conflict contact and how to conduct intergroup dialogue
programs that have conflict mediation in mind. The addition of more knowledge on prejudice
and discrimination can help to improve attitudes and stereotypes that can lead to increased
discrimination outcomes.
Combating prejudice and discrimination through education is effective because it brings
the concept into perspective by creating knowledge of its existence. This creates more awareness
in people on the different types of discrimination and they become aware of when they are
practicing discrimination. Media campaigns are often used to tackle prejudice and
discrimination. This can be through the use of TV, radio, and the internet. This can be done
through informational pieces and other media pieces such as poster campaig...
