Question Description

Hi! I need a one-page, double spaced, MS Word, 12-point New Times Roman, APA citation formatting, discussing the definition provided below.

Revisit your definition -

My definition of addiction is that overwhelming feeling people must have when they can’t have just one drink, or place one gambling bet online, or play one video game, etc. I also believe there are many factors that cause addiction.

1. Would you change your definition of addiction? Why or why not? If you would, state your new definition.

2. Visit the website of the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and review the code of ethics https://www.naadac.org/code-of-ethics and credentialing process for an addiction counselor. Choose one ethical area that you feel is especially important and one area that you think could be challenging for new or inexperienced addiction counselors.

Thank you!!

Short Discussion: Definition of Addiction
Yes, I would change my addiction definition because it is limited to having just one
drink, online, video game etc. addicts cannot be satisfied with just one. Additionally, the issue of
this feeling being psychological has been omitted. Therefore, I would define addiction as a
complex chronic disease that affects the functioning both the body.
The ethical area that I feel to be very important working in a culturally diverse world.
This is because this code of ethics ensures that addiction professionals are not only aware but
also knowledgeable of individual, cultural, societal and role differences among the various
clients they serve. Therefore, these professionals are enabled to offer services that demonstrate
respect for fundamental dignity, rights and worth for all clients...
