An Apologetic for Advertising from a Biblical Worldview
Introduction
Business people usually follow the goals of their establishments when creating
advertisements. However, there exist different motives when it comes to the creation of ads.
Different business people follow different doctrines and principles when creating ads. However,
the business perspective usually dominates in the majority of the companies. However, the
Christian beliefs usually advise the various business entities on the best practices to follow when
creating advertisements. The Christian teachings and beliefs usually direct the business people
on the ways to build their advertisements. Also, the Biblical perspective and principles offer the
necessary guidance that the Christian business people should follow when it comes to making the
final decisions about the respective advertisements.
Advertising revolves around giving information about the underlying products to the
target population. However, some businesses usually offer exaggerated or false information
about their products with the aim of capturing the attention of the community. The Bible advises
Christians against such behavior which may involve the provision of false information when
creating advertisements. On the other hand, the Bible encourages the Christian business people
about refraining from telling lies and also against greed. The Bible teaches the business people to

people and the general public at large. When deciding on marketing or advertising a product, a
Christian business person should observe the given ethical principles as provided by the Bible
which would provide the final guidance for such practices. This paper looks at the various

When a business uses deceitful tactics, it exaggerates the content of the underlying products with
the aim of capturing the attention of the audience (Olso, 2011). Also, such a tactic makes it easy
to show the target consumers that a given product or service surpasses their needs or demands.
On the other hand, the truthful tactic usually involves offering information about the underlying
product or service using its correct state with no exaggerations (Chancey, 2016). The Bible
teaches the business people and Christians at large to refrain from deceiving the others. Also,
Christian teachings prevent the business people from usi8ng deceitful tactics for their gains.
A Christian may then find it contradicting to work in various firms that use deceitful
tactics when creating advertisements. Similarly, creating such an ad may compromise the
underlying Christian principles and Biblical teachings on the concepts of honesty. Publications
