well let's see if 24 is correct or not. we put 24 then

v^2 - 6v + 24

I think 24 is not correct.

If we put 9, then

v^2 - 6v + 9

v^2 - 3v - 3v + 9

v(v - 3) - 3(v - 3)

(v - 3)(v - 3)

(v - 3)^2

Hence if we put 9 at constant's place then we get perfect square.

Did you get it?
