4. What is a subculture? What is a minority subculture? What are their functions in the broader political arena? Do these subcultures play similar roles across countries?
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
There are several factors affecting public opinion. These include: social-economic environments, age, gender, hear-says, level of education, immediate situations ,preformed impressions, values, attitudes, beliefs and creed. I think the most important factors are gender, immediate situations,hear-says, attitudes, beliefs, preformed impressions and creed. Less important factors include; age, level of education and values. Some factors such as immediate situations, social-economic situations are related. Preformed impressions and hear-says are related.
A subculture is a group of people that are part of a main culture, have set themselves apart from but still have some of the founding principles. A minority subculture is a subculture made up of people who are different from the social majority. These groups are important in the political arena. This is because they are already considered sidelined from the main group of people in a society hence candidates who express interest in them are considered more democratic. These groups play different roles in different countries, with some not playing any roles in other.
