Man depends on the five senses for cognitive learning and survival. The five senses are
sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing. The five senses are facilitated by organs. Sight is facilitated
by eyes, smell by nose, and touch by the skin, taste by tongue and hearing by the ears. The
configuration of the senses and the body organs rely on a complex sensory system mediated by a
nervous system that has receptors to external stimuli, recording of the message, transduction and
the resultant action as a response to the message.
The sensory system depends on the capacity to process the information and how
developed the target organ is at receiving the stimuli. Sensation is the ability to detect stimuli and
perception is the processing, organizing and interpreting the information done by the brain.
Generally sensation and perception work together in information reception (Organ) and
