SPEECH CRITIQUE
Introduction

The speech that is under discussion is "Reducing Carbon Pollution in Our Power Plants".
Former President Barack Obama talks of how much the country is affected by carbon and how it
is going to affect the future generation. He goes further to state that the main cause of pollution is
the power plants. In the video, President Barack Obama is very specific about the topic of
pollution, from the negative impact, the main cause, how it can be contained and the efforts of the
government.
Relevance and Clarity
The topic chosen for the speech is very relevant and also has a clear purpose. This is
because pollution is the main cause of most diseases that children are suffering from. President
Obama makes the speech while he is in a center where kids are being treated for Asthma attacks.
This makes the topic to be relevant for the audience since they would resonate more with the topic.
Also, pollution is not a new topic, it is something that has been in the media for a quite a long time.
Talking about the issue while in the hospital makes it easy to bring out the urgency of the matter.
