Part one:
It is not everyone who enjoyed the civil rights in America between the 1950s and 1960s
until protests for equality were launched. The black community was the majority who were
involved in the American civil rights movement since they faced racial-segregation and
discrimination (Behnken, 2016). They had fewer priorities to job opportunities, better schools,
and leadership positions among other crucial things when the white Americans were already
enjoying all the rights. The protests were led by a powerful leader Martin Luther King. They
wanted racial-oppression and slavery to be ended. They also wanted the basic civil rights to be
granted to them. The black-community felt that there was a need for them to be treated equally
and fairly as their white fellows. Emmett Till, a young black boy was brutally murdered when he
was paying a visit to the family at Mississippi. His death became an icon for the civil rights and
