Then, determine if this structure supports a culture of change or if it would be better served to consider a new model that would facilitate change and development needed for success. Explain how this structure would support the two most important development objectives needed by the organization for improved health.

It generally provides insights on an organization's positions regarding how strong, weak, opportunistic or risky the venture is. Internally, strengths and weaknesses are often analyzed whereas externally, opportunities and strengths are analyzed (Stevens, 2015). Health organizations such as Mayo Clinic need to analyze their SWOT to comprehensively know the facility's outcome. Through their SWOT analysis outcomes, they will be able to establish their strengths and weakness and come up with the best solution to curb the uncertainties and opportunities leveled on the facility. This evaluation will help them stand the varsity competition in the health care industry (Stevens, 2015). Strengths Every organization has strengths that keep it going, and Mayo Clinic is no exception. One advantage is that the facility gives attention to educating its staff and carrying out research. Mayo has put its team at the forefront of various research projects which helps them discover and evaluate new treatment mechanisms for emerging diseases as well as their prevention. Additionally, Mayo Clinic primarily focuses on qualitative handling of its patients. The patients are always the priority at the Mayo Clinic. They also have a significant focus on excellence in information, expertise, and compassion towards its patients. It also possesses the best technology that is modernized for taking care of patients in a preferable way: mortality rates, the rate of recovery after surgery, and the exact figure of patients who underwent a successful diagnosis and treatment. More so, Mayo Clinic measures its quality through the time spends between the doctor and the patient, ensuring that the doctors are retained in the Clinic, for positive reviews of discharged patients (Mayo, 2014). Similarly, Mayo has a system of value creation which aids in the reduction of the cost of the patients’ health care improving the quality of the facility. Project value portfolio is used exclusively in the reduction of costs and quality improvement. This includes; one-month readmission, the rate of deaths and infections associated with the health care. The costs incurred are the physician's report, utilization of blood and management of reimbursements. The system of value creation improves the quality of care given which in turn increases productivity while reducing costs (Noseworthy, 2012). Lastly, Mayo Clinic efficiently evaluates its patients through tests, diagnosis and surgery scheduling of in 24 hours. This is advantageous to most of the patients who travel from far distances in such medication at the Mayo Clinic (Massimino, 2015). Weaknesses It is evident that Mayo Clinic has tremendous strengths. However, there are specific weaknesses that the clinic faces. The Clinic does not have the required amount of facilities to accommodate the large population of patients. It hasn't reached enough countries yet, although it has networks in Minnesota, Florida not forgetting Arizona. Despite the Clinic having systems in some countries, the members are not willing to incorporate the Mayo's logo because they are not sure of the future. This is because the clinic is diversified; therefore, there are possibilities of conflicts due to lack of diversity in the synergy of the organization. The clinic does not have ambulatory care, thus, ranked below average in the health care industry. At the end of it all, the organization has room for improvement because it is regarded as one of the best health care companies in the US. Opportunities Mayo Clinic has the opportunities to grow and expand its networks globally. The organization has the task to ensure that it continues being an affiliate to other facilities. This will raise their level of competition to higher ranking hospitals such as Cleveland and John Hopkins clinics. The clinic has strategized its plan to a budget of about $5 billion for expanding the facility to safeguard its top-ranking position and keep the competitors' pace (Baier, 2013). Globally, the Mayo Clinic intends to market itself and be successful internationally. Some of Mayo's competitors like Cleveland Clinic are globally expanding their facilities in countries such as Abu Dhabi (Baier, 2013). This gives the Mayo facility an opportunity to open an international medical center as well to keep the pace of its competitors. Mayo can as well opt for modern technology like; remote monitoring, social media or use of telemedicine to reach the patients in distance counties. This reaches the patients at the comfort of their houses (Noseworthy, 2014). Threats In Mayo clinic, a few threats that are encountered could be the emergence of the new competition in the homegroup market. For example, there are some factors that lead to this emergence; competing for prices, some organizations funded by the government offer services at a cheaper cost compared to Mayo. This is despite the fact that the Mayo organization has embraced the use of recent technology in their various activities, some of their competitors might be using some state-of-the-art applications in conducting their various activities. Mayo is not established in every state; hence it faces stiffer competition from its competitors who are well established in more states than the Mayo Clinic. Another potential threat could be the loss of the Mayo employees to their competitors who can offer to pay more to them than they are paid by the mayo organization. If the Mayo organization could lay down some strategies to beat their competitors, it could be so crucial in making them stay on the lead. Summary In the SWOT analysis above, there are prudent and brilliant ideas that have been raised. Opportunities, weaknesses, and threats have to be addressed very effectively to ensure that the organization runs well; otherwise, Mayo organization may be negatively affected if it is poorly managed. There are many organizing assets that could enable this division to move forward. Mayo Clinic needs to think of an all-around incorporated mechanical foundation alongside concentrating on advancement. The Mayo Clinic should be aggressive with different doctor's facilities by ensuring their nature of consideration and cost is proficient. Keeping representatives glad through motivations and aggressive pay will shield them from leaving to work at another organization. Conclusion A SWOT analysis helps in finding out strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities within various organizations. In the off-chance that an organization realizes its strengths, weaknesses and maybe threats, thriving well to achieving their goals can be very easy. If Mayo could strategize on having a strong marketing plan, it could be easy for the organization to achieve their goals.
