then

5X+4Y=15.50-------------(1)

4X+5Y=16.00-----------(2)

multifly (1) by 4

20X+16Y=62-----------------(3)

multiply (2)  by 5

20X+25Y=80---------------(4)

then 

(4)-(3)

20X-20X+25Y-16Y=80-62

9Y=18

Y=2

from (1)

5X+4*2=15.50

5X=15.50-8

5X=7.5

X=7.5/5

X=1.5


so price of one hot dog=$1.5

price of one hamburger=$2
