A) Calculate the period of a ball tied to a string of length 0.7 m making 7.9 revolutions every second. Answer in units of s

B) Calculate the speed of the ball. Answer in units of m/s.

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question! the solution is as such:

given  r = 0.7m

The period of a revolution is given by T= 1/ f

here frequency f = 7.9 rev per sec

so T= 0.126 s

 now we know T = 2 pi / w

where pi =3.14 and w= angular speed

so w= 2 pi / T

   w = 49.84 rad/s

now velocity v= w* r

so v= 49.84 * 0.7

34. 88 m/s

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.awaiting a positive feedback. thank you.

the rad/s answer is wrong

Jun 23rd, 2015

ok i am checking it again

Jun 23rd, 2015

its 49.86  .

is it?

Jun 23rd, 2015

so w= 2 pi / T

  w = 49.86 rad/s

now velocity v= w* r

so v= 49.86 * 0.7

34. 90m/sPlease let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.awaiting a positive feedback. thank you.

Jun 23rd, 2015

ok i am going through it again

Jun 23rd, 2015

i checked it. the answer is correct. perhaps the answer in your solution sheet is misprinted

its an online assignment, I will check with my professor thanks for help

49.86 right?

Jun 23rd, 2015

so w= 2 pi / T

  w = 49.86 rad/s

now velocity v= w* r

so v= 49.86 * 0.7

34. 90m/sPlease let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.awaiting a positive feedback. thank you.
