    Ethics refers to the principles that govern a person or a business. It lays down what is good
    what is not, what is acceptable and what is not. Ethics are very important when it comes to business
    and to IT. Businesses that operate in an ethical manner avoid getting into any problems with the
    authority. Ethics make the organization to make the right decisions.
    Role of Ethics in Business and in IT
    When a business is operating in an ethical manner it is able to attract and retain more
    customers. People want to be associated with a company that is acting morally and when one stops
    to do so the customers may seek for other options. The business also grows because it is able to
    attract more people. The management team has to be able to lead in an ethical manner so that the
    other employees can follow the example set. When a business is operating in an ethical manner it
    is able to have a positive image which works very well for the brand. The consumers in return do
    respond very positively (Bishop, 2013). The investors also have a piece of mind knowing that they
    are in the right business. The business will also be able to retain its employees more when acting
    ethically. Same as the customers, employees as want to be associated with the right company that
    has a good reputation.
    The designers have to be able to come up with technology that does not infringe on people's
