You can plug in the X and y coordinates for the point into both equations and determine if the equality is true.For eexample : X + 2 y = -X +4 is point (1,5) is a solution ? Y =x+2 ( check tr first eequation) 5  ? = (1)+2 5?=1 + 2 5? = 3 [ false, the point is not the solution. no need to check the second equation ] Is point ( 1, 3 ) a solution? Y = x + 2 3? = ( 1 ) + 2 3? = 3 [ true, the point satisfies the first equation ] y = - x + 4 [ check the second equation ] 3? = - ( 1 ) + 4 3? = 3 [ true, the point satisfies both equations and is the system's solution ]
