Dynamic:  the force generated causes movement at the joint

Static: the muscle generates force while the joint angle remains the same. 

Concentric: force is generated as the muscle shortens and the joint angle decreases (positive phase)

Eccentric: force is generated as the muscle lengthens and the joint angle increases (negative phase)
