A species of bat is in danger of becoming extinct. Five years ago, the total population of the species was 2000. Two years ago, the total population of the species was 1400. write a model describing the number of bats and find the population of the species a year ago

We can see that the no. Of bats decreases exponentially . so the function is (100 - x)/ 100

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.awaiting a positive feedback. thank you.

The calculation is still on. Please wait

The function is [(100-x)/ 100] ^ n * present value = value after n years with the rate x%. So considering ourselves five years ago, the bats population was 2000 and after 3 years it is 1400. So putting 3 in place of n , we find x= 11.2 %. So after four years(means 1year ago from the present time) the population will be putting n= 4 and x = 11.2%. We get the population = 1243
