The function is [(100-x)/ 100] ^ n * present value = value after n years with the rate x%. So considering ourselves five years ago, the bats population was 2000 and after 3 years it is 1400. So putting 3 in place of n , we find x= 11.2 %. So after four years(means 1year ago from the present time) the population will be putting n= 4 and x = 11.2%. We get the population = 1243
