If 3y=5x+7 and a line is perpendicular to the line and passes through (7,3) find the equation of the line.

Given line can be written as  y = (5/3)x+7/3 hence slope of the given line = 5/3

therefore slope of perpendicular line = -3/5

hence the equation of line can be  (y-3) = (-3/5)(x-7)   ; 5y-15 = -3x+21

solving we get   3x+5y = 36  Answer
