A 83.9 kg astronaut is working on the engines of a spaceship that is drifting through space with a constant velocity. The astronaut looks at Earth and several seconds later is 33.0 m behind the ship, at restrelative to the spaceship. The only way to return to the ship without a thruster is to throw a wrench directly away from the ship. Thewrench has a mass of 0.485 kg and thrown  with a speed of 16.3m/. using conservation of momentum, the speed of the astronaut is 

V*83.9 + 16.3*.485 =0 

V = 0.0942 m/s 

t = 33/0.0942 = 350.2 seconds
