Cultural perspectives
Examining different cultures is an interesting activity that enables scholars and
researchers to have an insight into other cultures with various aspects from theirs. It is, however,
an activity that is supposed to be handled with keenness because of the extreme diversities some
of which might not sound good to our ears. Perspectives and points of view will always be
different, and it is significant to handle culture analysis with an open mind instead of fixed
expectations. With this knowledge, anthropology studies and evaluation will always be divided
into etic and emic perspectives.
The emic perspective comes from an insider while etic is an analysis of a culture from an
outsider. It is evident that there would be a difference in explaining what culture is the two
perspectives and that is why it is essential to choose the relevant method depending on the
purpose of the study (Kohrt, & Mendenhall, 2014). The paper will examine the influence of
culture on practices and behaviors related to healthcare. Culture shapes the individual's
perspectives on what they do and every other activity they engage in. Studies like this enable us
to expose the fact that as much as there are many cultures, there are common factors that we all
share. Cultural relativism will be applied here to differentiate as well as point out similarities
among cultures.

sweeping some practices away and introducing general practices for communities that have been
living together for a long time, there are traces of the culture that will remain a...
