(a) The quadratic function is expressed in standard form as

f(x) = x2 – 4x 

  = (x2 – 4x  + 4) – 4

  = (x – 2)2 - 4

(b) Vertex: (x, y) = (2, -4)

x-intercepts: (x,y) = (0 , 0)  (smaller x-value)

                     (x,y) = (4, 0)   (larger x-value)

y-intercept: (x,y) = (0,0)
