Note: This is the first of four assignments which, as a whole, will cover all aspects of the project life cycle relevant to your selected project. You have been selected to be the Project Manager (for a project of your choice). The project that you decide to use should meet the key criteria of a project, such as (a) having a beginning and an end; (b) results in something being delivered to someone; (c) requires a series of activities that must be done to complete the project; and (d) requires resources (e.g., people, materials) to complete the work.

The project must be one of a professional nature and must last for at least twelve (12) months. Note: You are prohibited from using projects that can found on the Internet, including projects found in places like Course Hero. All project submissions will be submitted to Safe Assign for review.

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you define the scope of your chosen project. In your paper you must:

  1. Provide a brief summary of your chosen project.
  2. Describe at least three (3) project goals and three (3) project objectives.
  3. Identify the key customer(s) and at least two (2) stakeholders for your project. Remember, you are delivering the project to your customer(s); however, there are others (stakeholders) who have a vested interest in your project.
  4. Describe at least three (3) key milestones and /or deliverables for your project.
  5. Describe a high-level timeline that includes key tasks and deadlines.
  6. Estimate the project’s overall costs and any key staffing and non-staffing resources needed.
  7. Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Project Summary
As the chairperson of the local youth development organization, I have been tasked with
managing a poultry farm business project as a business to raise funds for the group. The project
is based on making an initial investment on chicken rearing, and later develops it into a business
that will supply poultry products to the local distributors, retailers and consumers, with the aim
of creating a source of income for the association members. The group has identified a business
opportunity in supplying of poultry products in the local neighborhood and intends to start this
project as a source of employment and income for the members. There are also aspirations to
expand the business beyond the local market, to the global platform, depending on how well it
thrives. As the project manager, I am responsible for coordinating all the activities and resources
that significantly contribute to the project success, throughout the life cycle, as well as ensuring
all the objectives and goals are met (Kerzne & Kerzner, 2017).

Key Customers and Stakeholders
The organizational members who are also the main project team members are the key
customers of the project. They have invested a lot of time and resources by raising capital and
making strategic plans/decisions regarding the project. Members will, therefore, be the principal
beneficiaries of the project and will expect to reap adequate benefits in terms of profit from the
project. The local community will also be a key customer for the project, as it represents the
local suppliers and consumers who will significantly contribute to the project success by
purchasing the poultry products and providing a reliable market. Community members will also
provide the required labor, expertise as well as a source of raw materials for the project.
Another customer for the project will be youth empowerment governmental and
nongovernmental organizations. Some local and national government programs exist to support
youth projects and empower them to achieve various goals. Similarly, some charity organizations
are committed to assisting the youth in various local activities and programs, by virtue of being a
