First derivative of f(s) = 2s-1.2

0= 2s-1.2

s= 1.2/2

s = 0.6

taking 2nd derivative of f(s)

2nd derivative of f(s) = 2  which is > 0 so this function has the minimum value

f(0.6) = 0.6^2-1.2(0.6)+16

f(0.6)= 15.64

to find the max or minimum value of any function we need to find its derivatives , first of all you have to find the first derivative after that you put that first derivative equation equal to 0 and find the value of variable , then you take 2nd derivative and put that value in 2nd derivative equation , if you get >0 then its minimum and if it is <0 then you have maximum value

yes the answer is 2 which is greater than 0 , I mentioned it before 2 >0 which means function has minimum value
