There were 246 Apple stores worldwide in 2008 and 317 Apple stores worldwide in 2010. Write a linear equation in slope-intercept form that models this growth. Let x stand for the number of years after 2008 and let y= the number of Apple stores worldwide

I think I was trying to solve, but the problem I see now only requires to write the formula. However, I have another question. Why would I not use ordered pairs to solve for slope and then put that in the slope intercept form. That was how I was approaching the problem. I was going to use ordered pairs (0,246) (2,317) to find slope and then insert that in the Y=mx+b formula using any of the one pairs for the Y intercept to complete slope intercept format. Where am I going wrong??

Katie - are you there?? I posted a follow up question and need clarification. thanks
