A vehicle’s velocity (in feet per second) was measured every 5 seconds around a race track and the data is as follows:

Time, t051015202530
V (t)073111140188200220

Use 6 rectangles to estimate the total distance traveled by the car during these 30 seconds by averaging the answer from using the right endpoints and the left endpoints.

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

Distance=speed*time

Speed is calculated by averaging the speed at the end points.

so averages are-

s1=(0+73)/2

s2=(73+111)/2

s3=(111+140)/2

s4=(140+188)/2

s5=(188+200)/2

s6=(200+220)/2

distance=5*(73/2+92+251/2+164+194+210)

d=4110 feet.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
