He observes that work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.
many at time projects do fail although its true that every project is unique, all project failures can also be assessed using same generalities. the following are the main causes of project failures.
1. poor up-front planning
this is the most common problem. planning is very important for the success of any project. projects that are executed without proper planning are likely to fail.
2. incomplete or vague work plan
how you schedule your work plan will always determine how you are going to complete the your work. too high level, incomplete or not up-to-date plans always cause problems and will lead to project failures especially in bigger projects.
3. inadequate resources
failure to estimate the work correctly may lead to project failures as you may not have sufficient resources and experienced staff to complete the project.
