Unpaid internships is an issue that has persisted to raise eyebrows as two key sides emerge. Some feel that such opportunities are sheer misuse of a student's knowledge and skills. Nonetheless, this is not the case when the situation is analyzed from the point of view where a student immensely benefits. Through hiring students, an employer undertakes the risks that come with hiring an amateur who has not been in the field prior. Therefore, beside the student getting the chance to advance their skills and learn concurrently, they also expose the employer to mistakes and mishaps that might come along with hiring such a person. When it is all said and done, unpaid internships provide a good opportunity for a student to learn, practice and gather critical information on their career path choice prior to becoming certified professionals. Consequently, unpaid internships may be deemed to be good ideas when a student is still undertaking studies or has to go back to school after the internship. Additionally, it is also a good idea for technical courses students such as engineering for they get to learn utilizing expensive equipment and resources at the expense of the employer. However, in the case where a student is almost done with school or is awaiting graduation,it is not advisable to undertake such an internship program. Instead the student should look for alteratives so as to set their corse for future employment.
