Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

10^(3-x) = 20

Step 1: Take log of both sides

log (10)^3-x = log 20

(3-x) log 10 = log 20 (definition of log)

Step 2:  log 10 = 1, log 20 = 1.30102

(3-x) *1 = 1.30102

3 - x = 1.30102

Step 2:

Subtract 3 from both sides

3-3-x = 1.30102-3.0000

Step 3:  Simplify:

-x = -1.69898

Step 4:  Change signs on both sides

x = 1.69898 or x = 1.6990 to 4 decimal places
