Most calculators can find logarithms with base '10' and base 'e'.  To find logarithms with different bases, we use the "Change of base formula". 

To find  log23 ( i.e log3 to the base 2) we write ln3 / ln2 = 1.584962501

(.e log3 to the base e / log2 to the base e )
