1-inch margin at the top and bottom and 1/2 inch margin on the sides therefore

printed area = (x - 2)(y - 1)

total page area = 32 in²
hence , xy = 32  ; y = 32/x

hence we can write, printed area = (x - 2)(32/x - 1)   ; or   Print area = 34 - x- 64/x

to find maximum possible area let us difference wrt to x we get  
 A' = 64/x² - 1 = 0    ;    x² = 64 ; x = 8

  y= 32/x  = 4 

therefore , each page size is 8 inch (Length)  by  4 inch (width)   (Answer)
