Personality assessment as a proficiency within professional psychology that involves
the scoring, interpretation, and administration of measures in personality styles and traits that
are supported empirically for the purposes of refining clinical diagnoses, inform
psychological interventions and structure (Weiner et al, 2017).
Particularly, the term objective in objective tests represents the method that is adopted
in scoring the responses of a person instead of the specific responses. In the identification of
the objective methods of personality assessment, there are features that single out these
methods. They include:
1. The comprehensiveness-this feature is concerned with the extent to which assess
personality is sought in a manner that is comprehensive. Perhaps, the many
extensively used measures are meant to achieve the assessment of a single core
attribute. On the other hand, several inventories comprise many specific scales in the
comprehensive measurement of a personality.
2. Levels of breadth- Generally, many models put emphasis on broad traits, which can
further be subdivided into several distinct that are however correlated.
In measuring personality assessment, projective tests, implicit tests, and behavioral and
performance measures are some of the measures that are used.
The approach employed by a specialist in assessment of personality is based on the
assumptions that imply much of the variability that can be observed in behavior in different
people a result of differences in the level to which individuals possesses identifiable
