What happens to the pressure inside a rigid container if the amount of nitrogen gas increases from 0.500 mole to 0.750 mole? The original pressure is 98.0 kPa, and the temperature remains constant.

PV = n/MM RT

As V, MM, R, and T are constant, so P is directly proportional to n

P1/n1 = P2/n2 

98.0 / 0.500 = P2 / 0.750

P2 = 98.0 / 0.500 x 0.750 

= 147 kPa

The pressure is increased from 98 kPa to 147 kPa.
