Calvin has 14 more kazoos than 3 times the amount of gary. All together they have 118 Kazoos. How many does each person have?

Let us assume 

No. of kazoos Gary has =x 

No. of kazoos calvin has = 14+3x 

Total no. of kazoos = 118

Therefore  x+14+3x = 118 

14+4x = 118 

4x = 118-14

4x = 104

x=  104/4

x= 26

So gary has 26 kazoos 

and no. of kazoos calvin has  =14+3x =14+3*26  = 14+78 = 92

Gary =26

calvin =92
