The equation of a line

The equation of the line that goes through the point ( 3 , 2 )

and has a slopeof 3/2

Since the slope and a point on the line are given, we can use the point slope form of a line to find the equation of the line.

Point slope form of a line is

$y-y_0=m(x-x_0)$

where m is the slope of the line

and $(x_0,y_0)$ is a point on the line.

Here, m = 3/2  and $(x_0,y_0)$ = (3, 2).

Substituting these values in the equation, we get

$\\ y-2=\frac{3}{2}(x-3)\\ \\ y-2=\frac{3}{2}x-\frac{3}{2}\times3\\ \\ y=\frac{3}{2}x-\frac{9}{2}+2\\ \\ y=\frac{3}{2}x+\frac{-9+2\times2}{2}\\ \\ y=\frac{3}{2}x+\frac{-9+4}{2}\\ \\ y=\frac{3}{2}x-\frac{5}{2}\\$

This is the equation of the line.
