At a rock concert, a dB meter registered 126dB when placed 2.7in front of a loudspeaker on the stage. The intensity of the reference level required to determine the sound level is 1.0*10^-12 W/m^2.

a.What was the power output of the speaker, assuming uniform spherical spreading of the sound and neglecting absorption in the air?
b.How far away would the sound level be 84dB ?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

4) a) 126 = 1o*log(I/Io)

I = 3.98 W/m^2 Pout = T*A = 3.98*4*pi*r^2 = 3.98*4*3.14*2.7^2 = 364.418352 watt

b) 126/85 = log(r2/r1) = log(r2/2.7)

r2 = 81.98 m

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
