Are Collegiate Student & Athletes Under-Prepared?

Question Description
Submit Assignment: Are Collegiate Student-Athletes Under-Prepared for College?
Research has shown that the student-athlete sub-group of college campuses’ student body is not only entering college under-prepared, but they are also presented with extraneous pressure that traditional students might not face (Hagedon & Horton, 2009). Consequently, many student-athletes become academically ineligible or are not prepared to meet the academic rigor of higher education. Why do you think this is, and what suggestions do you have to improve the readiness of collegiate student-athletes? By conducting your own research, what types of support services are available to student-athletes? How can administrators and faculty do a better job supporting the academic deficiencies many student-athletes are facing?
