Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

In physics a plasmon is a quantum of  plasma oscillation. Light consists of photons similarly plasma oscillation consists of plasmons. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is a real time phenomenon of label-free detection of biomolecular interactions. SPR occurs when polarized light strikes an electrically conducting surface at the interface between two media.

Plasmons play a large role in the optical properties of metal. Light of frequencies below plasma frequency is reflected, because the electrons in the metal screen the electric filed of the light. Light of frequencies above the plasma frequency is transmitted, because the electrons cannot respond fast enough to screen it.

Hi, I didn't get that!! can you please elaborate more?

OH, That's way far from what I'm talking about , the surface plasmon resonance means the frequeency at which the electric field of the incident light interact with the free electrons on the top of the imaging particle.
