Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

let number of tickets of Sam be X

Chad Y

2X+5.5Y=83

X+Y=24

THEN Elimination

2X+5.5Y=83

2x+2y=48

then

3.5y=35

y=10

therefore

x=24-10

=14

Sam 10tickets

Chhad 14 tickets
