REL212 WORLD VIEW CHART
This chart contains all the research you need to write the final paper for this course. If you do the research and reading on the religion(s) we study each
week, and if you give yourself a good guide to the religions using this chart, you will have a good foundation for that final paper. The more information you
provide for yourself with this chart, the easier it will be to write your final paper. Do not forget to provide adequate material for any in-text citations and be
sure to include a reference page as well. On the left hand side of the chart are the categories and the content to be discussed.
Complete and submit the following chart. Provide citations for any source(s) you used to explain or provide examples for in your research. List in APA
Style full references for any in-text citations and source(s) made in the above chart. Use full sentences and correct grammar, etc.

Every religion has a cosmology/cosmogony to explain its view of the
universe and the place of humans in it. Explain the
cosmology/cosmogony for this week’s religion. Explain how it is
manifested in the subsequent worldview that develops for that religion.

Buddhists view the universe ad both endless and subject to suffering, uncertainty,
and impermanence. They belief that the universe is impermanent because both
good and bad state does not last forever. Buddhists view the universe to contain
six realms from which souls are born. These six realms include Heaven,
humanity, Titans (angry gods), pretas (hungry gods), animal realm, and hell
realm. The heaven of realm is the realm of enjoyment characterized by long-lived
beings and blissfulness. The humanity realm is the most fortunate state although
human suffer. In this realm, humans have the greatest chance of enlightenment.
The realm of Titans- angry gods is the realm of warlike beings (Important.ca,
2013). The realm of hungry gods (pretas) is the realm in which human existence
is fringed. They cannot satisfy their craving and is symbolized by depiction of
tiny mouths and huge bellies. The animal realm is an undesirable because humans

exploit the animals. In the Hell realms, people are tortured until bad karma is
worked off. In the subsequent worldview of Buddhism, the universe was not
created by any god. Instead, Buddhists belief that everything depends on
everything else and that current events are a result of past events and leads to
future events (Important.ca, 2013).
