Introduction

This paper will provide an analysis of the National Institute of Health which is one of
the primary agencies responsible for public health research and biomedical. When looking at
the history of this institution, it was started back in the 1790s and was known as the marine
hospital since it only provided health services to the patient in the USA navy. In 1870, the
treasury department allocated funds to the institution which was to be used in the
investigation of the causes of yellow fever, cholera, and others. This is what marked the
beginning of its national board of health and medical research was made as one of the
government initiatives. Later in 1944, the institution changed its name and was called the
National Institute of Health (Claxton et al 2015). Since then, more funding was allocated to

professionals participate in different support activities that provide professional development
to the community and students in the medical schools.
NIH has an extraordinary reputation in the whole world. As mentioned earlier in the
introduction section of this paper, this organization was started in the 1790s which means that
it has been operational for a long period of time. When looking at the market, those
organizations which are known to have long longevity seem to attract a significant number of
clients. Bearing in mind that NIH has around twenty-seven institutes and centers with each
