According to National health foundation more than 45 million Americans suffer from chronic or recurrent headaches. These vary depending on the course and mode of treatment. The most common of these are Tensional headaches which commonly occur in adults and adolescents. They come and go over a prolonged period of time and cause mild to moderate pain.
The next common type of headache is migraines which are caused by abnormal brain activity. Genetics plays a role in migraines and most of these disorders are caused by inherited abnormalities in certain brain parts.
Mixed headache syndrome is another type of headache that is a combination of migraine and tension headaches. This type is commonly associated to both adults and children.
Cluster headaches is the most severe of all the other headaches discussed above.It is intense with the pain being located behind one eye.
Basic headaches like tensional headaches can be cured by relaxation but more intense ones like migraines require more sophisticated laxatives and painkillers.
