Intervention Location/Duration Reasoning Behind Intervention IEP (individualized education plan) or 504 plan School IEP is completed to place a child in special education and to give them the assistance they require within the classroom setting to be successful. A student can be placed in a special education classroom and/or they can have inclusion classes where they receive special accommodations within a normal classroom. The IEP should be specifically tailored towards the child. It can include specifics on where the child should sit (example front of classroom right by the teacher's desk) and can include specific ways for the teacher(s) to work with the student (example chunking of the assignments). -Until child is successful within the classroom setting without any of the inventions listed, the child will then no longer qualify for special assistance.
