Question description

STUDENTS:  Take a look at Ross Perot, one of the most successful 3rd party candidates who ran for President (unsuccessfully) against Bill Clinton in 1992, and 1996.  In his first run he was able to win over 18% of the popular vote!  In his second run for president the 2 major parties changed some rules and made sure that he did not get in the debates. His voter numbers went way down as a result.
Is it impossible for 3rd party candidates to win?
