According to the Disease Model, the human body seeks to establish regularity in brain chemical production, and when that is not biologically possible, an artificial means is sought. Do you agree or disagree with this theory of substance use?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

I agree. Imbalance between substance requirement and need or supply  will either directly lead to artificial compensation; or can do so indirectly by influencing an accident. For the body system to aclimatize to the deficit ,it will sought an artificial intake to readjust the balance.

Accidents due to substance imbalance will also lead to an artificial effort to correct it.

Thus as far as substance abuse tend to be a habit,it is actually an attempt by the body system to adjust to an insult in substance balance.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
