A tourist boat is traveling from Naples, Florida to Key West (island in the Gulf of Mexico), which is approximately 150 miles away. After traveling for 45 miles, the captain notices he is 22 degrees off course due to high winds. How far away from Key West is the boat, and what is the angle boat must turn to correct its course?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

using sine rule, sinA/a=sinB/b=sinC/c we get

h=(sin22)/sin68

=18.18miles

and tanx (inverse)=(18.18/150)

x=6.91 degrees

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.

ok, if you sketch the figure, there will be two known angles of 90 and 22 of a triangle, so 180 -22-90=68
