  2. Explain how solving 2(x - 3)(x - 1) = 0 differs from solving 2x(x - 3)(x- 1) = 0

 it works because one of the numbers must be zero example

A*B=0     means that either A OR B is zero


2.    2(x-3)(x-1)=0

solutions are x=3 or x=1

while 2x(x-3)(x-1)=0

solutions are x=0, x=3 and x=1
