Feminism in Cuba
The journal contains information on what was happening during the Batista regime, with
all the sources, spans the period from Cuban independence to the end of this regime or period. This
journal article comprises of the work of feminist about their causes and their background
information. Additionally, there are some of these journals that discuss the work of men on the
status of women in society. Then the other comprised of literary criticism on gender or feminism.
From the read article, it is portrayed that women in Cuba have constitutional rights as men
regarding fields of economic, political, social and also in the cultural context. Additionally, these
rights apply even in the families; women and men roles or duties are the same in the context of the
family. No bias is applied in Cuba since rights are accorded well and justly in Cuba.
The Cuban state guarantees women the same opportunities and chances like to make to
attain full participation of women in all activities that pertain nation building. If women take part
in an in the development of the country, then the state will have acquired the full participation of
women (Fernades, 2005). The state has ensured that the women enjoy all the rights and freedom
to avoid the unjust practices that deteriorate the development of nations. This exercise is unlike
what is practices in most of the countries where women are said to be subjects and are not free
citizens but subjects to their husbands. The Cuban national government has ensured that is the
women can access leadership seats regardless of their status. Almost half of the leaders in Cuba
are women. There is equality in the national assembly where equal opportunities are granted to
both genders. Half of the national meeting in Cuba comprises of women, and the other half involve
of men. Cuba is one of the top countries known for granting women equal opportunities just like
men. This practice has enriched the political life of women.
However, this Cuban journal is not biased. The ideas are well present and the themes. The
practice of the Cuban government is healthy in any given society. It would be better if the other
states emulate what is practiced in this state to promote the full development of a country. All the
leaders should look for better ways that grasp the attention of women and motivate them to the full
participation in building nations just like in Cuba. This achievement can only be attained if the
practice of equal opportunities and equal possibilities are granted to the two genders that are, men
and women. Just like in Cuba, women political life will be enriched if the other states practice
what is done in Cuba (Bushnell, 2011). This article is well presented, and the ideas are logical and
fair. Moreover, in this article, no assumption has been made, but the facts are well presented.
