Symptoms Indicating the Existence of Problem
The signs that indicated the existence of the problem in the Regency Grand Hotel were
such as several workers leaving the hotel after the new management; workers failing to
differentiate between major and minor issues as they were only allowed to report severe
problems to the supervisor; John Becker became trusted because subordinates were wasting time
resolving trivial matters which resulted in diminishing self-confidence of the workers; the stress
level of the workforce increasing, and the increase in absenteeism. Unity in the workplace among
the workers was damaged which resulted in the inefficiency of customer service as complaints
from clients increased. A number of the personnel were transferred to different workstations after
