competitive advantage. This is known as the generic strategy, which is the best-known strategy
for achieving and maintaining competitiveness in the market. This strategy will be integrated
with the intensive growth strategy which has been a culture of the company, which reflects the
emphasis on innovation to develop the company. Intensive strategy records how the company is
growing. For this strategy has seen the company grow since it was started in 1964 and has helped
the company to grow consistently making it become one of the leading companies dealing with
athletic shoes, equipment, and apparel internationally. The organization is ensuring that it utilizes
its intensive growth strategy and generic strategy to keep its position in the market and provide it
with a competitive advantage (Uhl & Gollenia, 2016).
Nike Inc. is using the strategy from Porter’s model which combines cost leadership
strategy and differentiation strategy. Cost leadership, kind of generic strategic, is sustaining the
competitive advantage on the basis of costs. In this strategy the company is minimizing on
production cost and maximizing on profitability or reducing the selling price. The company will
be reducing the cost and the selling price of its products. This generic strategy is helping the
