In today’s business world, organizations encounter different and rapid changing conditions

which they must keep pace with. Managers in these organizations are therefore continuously
tasked with ensuring that their organizations meet these variations in order to conform to the new
business environments. Organizational change has become a constant process with significant
effects on the efficiency of an organization. Organizations must, therefore, pay a lot of attention
and remain alert to notice changes that may come from within their organization or the outside
business environment. Managers have a role in understanding learning the necessary adjustments
in order to change efficiently and quickly (Shmula, 2017). This paper will discuss the factors that
determine the need for change, readiness for change, a critic of some tactics use in change
implementation and evaluate the effects of change.

One of the factors to use to determine if a change is necessary for an organization is
unsatisfactory performance. All organization has objectives and as well as performance
measurements that show how well the objectives are achieved. If the measures indicate that the
organization is underperforming or not performing as expected, it is an indicator that change is
needed to remedy the situation so that the organization can reach its level of performance and
compete well. Secondly, when the organization notices that its competitors are performing better,
it shows that adjustments are needed. Every organization strives to become a leader in the market
hence if the company is outperformed by its competitors it means that it is not performing to its
