Question Description

I just need 2 brief (but still somehow detailed) summaries regarding these 2 cases: https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/267/13... and https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/269/20...

I need a summary regarding the plaintiff, the defendant and how common law worked in both of these cases. Also, which important amendments are used.
